About Us
Cool activities include visits to local attractions like the Vulcan Quarry in Centreville.
Cub Scout Pack 1861 has served the growing needs of boys living in the Clifton Elementary School attendence district and Sully District scouting area of Fairfax County, VA for nearly 40 years.  Chartered by the Clifton Lions Club, our Pack is part of the broader National Capital Area Council (NCAC) of the Boy Scouts of America.

Our Pack leadership consists of the following postions that are filled by volunteers from the community and parents of our Scouts:

Charter Organization Representative
Unit Commissioner
Committee Chair
Events Planning Chair
Training Chair
Assistant Cubmaster
Tiger Den Leaders - for 1st grade boys
Wolf Den Leaders - for 2nd grade boys
Bear Den Leaders - for 3rd grade boys
Webelos Den Leaders - for 4th and 5th grade boys

Some of our events throughout the year include monthly Pack meetings and Den meetings combined with annual model rocket launches, Clifton Day fundraisers, Toys-for-Tots campaigns, Neighbor-to-neighbor community service events, summer day and overnight camps, local sporting events (baseball, basketball, hockey), annual Pinewood Derby, and annual Raingutter Veggata events (yes, we use veggies for boats!)  This list does not include the Den specific events or the seasonal activities that we undertake as our volunteers use their noggins to come up with ever more exciting activities for our boys every year!

Join us as we celebrate 100 Years of Scouting in the United States this year!
